Our end of term show for the Summer Term was held on July 3rd at Christopher Whitehead High School. The doors opened at 5pm and the show kicked off at 5:30pm. It was a big production and didn't finish until 9pm - quite a show! For a whole bunch of photos from this show click here.
12 bands performed in total and there were 5 instrumental ensemble performances.
The show began with the drum ensemble and was closely followed by the vocalists. Both performances wowed the crowd and set the scene for our two Junior bands who did an absolutely brilliant job this term. Killer Squirrels on Mopeds performed 'Smoke on the Water' by Deep Purple in true rock style and Tax Free Cornflakes impressed the crowd with 'Clocks' by Coldplay. Amazing! The guitarists and bassists did some great ensemble work later on in the show too.
The Senior bands did some excellent performances. All of the bands put a lot of effort in to get to this stage and all deserve a huge round of applause for all the work they've put in this term.
While I (Brian) couldn't see all the performances from where I was lots of people told me about the following bands:
The rendition of Offspring's 'Pretty Fly for a White Guy' by Rama, Hannah, Jake, Daz and Dan stands out as one of the most lively performances we've had for a while - great stuff! Alex, Alasdair and Jack also rocked. Rama, Ollie, Joe and Rob also did some major prog-rock - very cool... Rich, Verity, Kris and Lee also turned out a very professional performance and who could forget Luke, Harry, Ian, Darren and Lee at the end - monstrous rock! Headbanging on stage!
A huge well done to absolutely everyone who took part in the show, whether performing or helping! We look forward to seeing you again at the Summer School between August 8th and 12th.
